Our holiday to Spain seems like an age ago now but I still haven’t shared what we actually got up to over our week. So here’s a quick look at what we did plus all the outfits too in my Holiday Photo Diary.

Our first stop was one night in Almeria as we chose to fly into there instead of Malaga. Almeria is a beautiful city and has lots of beautiful architecture.
You can read all about what we got up to in my Almeria City Guide.

Our villa was just outside the pretty town of Frigiliana and we had hired a car to drive from Almeria across to Frigiliana. This is the second time we have stayed in this area and again chose a private villa so we could relax and have a space all to ourselves. We really lucked out with the villa this time, it was truly stunning. You can read all about the villa and see loads more photos in my post

On the first night we headed to one of our favourite restaurants in Nerja which is a 20 minute drive from where we were staying. We ate at this restaurant twice last time we came, partly for the food but mostly for the amusing accordion player who’s rendition of the birdie song will still be the funniest holiday memory I have. Sadly the accordion lady was no where to be seen but we did have a yummy meal and my first (of many) pina colada’s.

The second night we once again headed into Nerja in the search for paella and we found it at a gorgeous restaurant with an amazing view of the sea. Once again I partook in a cheeky pina colada (it had now become my aim to have one everywhere we went!!) and we watched the sun set over the sea.
One of the best things I bought was my inflatable flamingo. I’d wanted one for ages and as we were in a private villa with our own pool I had to get one. I bought mine from eBay and it was much cheaper than a lot of places, plus it was HUGE!! We didn’t take a foot pump so it took the two of us a good while to get Willamina inflated (yes I named her)
We both spent hours floating around the pool lay on this flamingo. Hands down the best money I’ve ever spent.

We visited the Caves of Nerja one day and its definitely worth a trip. Absolutely stunning caves and only 10 Euros entry so a bit of a bargain. Another bargain is the tourist train that takes you round Nerja is 12 euros and includes entry to the caves too – even better!

Frigiliana is such a stunning town. Traditional and white washed its the perfect place for a wander and a bit of shopping or food. We visited twice this time. once to wander round in the daytime including the market and once to eat in the evening.
Read my post A Day in Frigiliana for all the snaps.
The pool was most definitely my favourite part of the villa, I’m a true pisces most definitely and I loved just spending time reading, sun bathing around the pool plus having a dip whenever it got a bit too hot for me. I am one of those people that cant sit still in the heat so thats another reason I love staying in a villa, you can just mooch in and out without having to trek all the way back up to your hotel room.

Another great thing about having the villa is that we could eat there if we wanted to. We had a couple of barbecues there and sat on the terrace drinking homemade sangria and playing board games. It was so relaxing and so lovely as it meant I didn’t get dressed up I just left my hair wet and sat wrapped up in a fluffy jumper watching the sun set.
On the last night we headed into Nerja again for a bit of shopping and dinner at this amazing Mexican restaurant Cielito Lindo that I’d spotted previously. The streets of Nerja are so bustling and vibrant at night with lots of shops and bars. I love being on holiday and being able to shop late at night its my favourite thing.
We ate amazing fajitas all stacked up on these metal stands and I drank the best mojito I have ever had! It was the best meal of the whole holiday and we finished off our last night with an ice cream from our favourite place. The ferro rocher ice cream was to die for!!
We had such an amazing holiday and we definitely would go back to Frigilana and Nerja again as there is still so much to do and see that we haven’t yet. We’re not usually people who go to the same place on holiday but we’ve really fallen in love with this area.
I can’t wait to jet off again next week, this time to NYC again for an exciting press trip. I’m going to be sharing the trip every day on my Instagram Stories so head over and follow me if you don’t already.
