Plymouth Hotel Miami Beach review

I take booking a hotel pretty seriously and I must confess I did spend a long time choosing our Miami Beach hotels but as soon as I found The Plymouth I knew I wanted to stay there. Its been a dream of mine to visit Miami and I was so lucky when Olympus not only gave me the chance to visit but left all the details to me to decide. One of the reasons I really wanted to visit and snap photos in Miami Beach was the art deco architecture and I really wanted to stay in an art deco hotel, but one that was super pretty and of course instagrammable too. The Plymouth ticks all these boxes and we enjoyed our time so much I really wanted to do a full Plymouth Hotel Miami Beach review here on the blog with lots and lots of snaps.

The hotel itself is located near Collins Park so its not right on the beach, but this suited us great as it was really quiet and was only two streets down to the beach so really close to walk. It has its own private section on the beach which guests can use and there's even a golf buggy to drive you down there. We didn't have time but if you do go, sun-loungers and towels are all included in your resort fee that you pay at the hotel.

I booked the Plymouth mainly due to the amazing pink beds!! ha ha Now not every room has one but reception were sooo kind making sure my room did. I had a Classic Terrace room which had a king sized bed, gorgeous bathroom and a private terrace.

The bed was so comfy as well as super pretty and I loved all the art deco touches from the bed side lamps to the ceiling lights. The art deco vintage feel was continued with the mini bar trolley and the stunning crystal cut ice bucket and glasses too which were so gorgeous. There was also an in room espresso machine which I did use every day too.

My terrace was lovely. Sadly it didn't have a very good view as next door is being constructed but thats not really The Plymouth's fault. As it was a Saturday and Sunday night it was really quiet and me and Jay did sit out on the terrace one night and have a glass of wine, so it was great to have that outside space.

The bathrooms were another big draw for me to book The Plymouth Hotel. In keeping with the deco period the bathrooms have stunning white subway tile and marble decor with a totally french vibe. I love the industrial deco style fittings and fixtures, especially the bathroom mirror. I also love the touches of pink with the pink water glasses. The bathroom had a gorgeous huge shower with a really powerful rain shower which was lovely and I loved the Molten Brown toiletries too.

The Plymouth's pool area also carries on the art deco style with its checkerboard tiled floor and peach striped sun loungers and cabanas. I did find time to take a dip and the pool was lovely and not too busy. They also have outside a big urn of fruit infused water and tubs of sun lotion and after sun for guest use which I think is just fab.

Inside in the foyer and bar the deco features continue. I loved the wooden pigeon hole wall and clock which is from the original building and I also really loved the tiki style bar and chairs. So much of the hotel has been restored with the original building and design in mind and I really really appreciated this and all the small details around the hotel. It describes itself as a "revival of a four-story Art Moderne building. The custom designed hotel by Fernando Santangelo features 110 rooms furnished by Restoration Hardware.  It offers an experience of design-centric living with a sense of solitude and intimacy" I totally agree with this. One of the biggest things we loved about the hotel was the friendliness of the staff. From reception to the bell boys each one took the time to talk to us, giving us recommendations of great places to eat or go and generally just being really lovely and friendly. Both me and Jay who I travelled with, said this is what made our stay at The Plymouth Miami Beach feel like we were staying with friends and what makes us both want to go back again.

I can't say enough good things about our stay at The Plymouth Hotel. From the rooms, to the pool, to the staff I would 100% recommend it. It has a great location that is close enough to Miami Beach to experience it whilst being away from the crowds and the noise. I really really hope to go back and stay again one day. I'd love to stay in one of the pool view balcony rooms next time but it would definitely be my first choice if I was to return to Miami Beach on a trip.

Thanks so much to The Plymouth Team for looking after us so well and I hope to come back soon.
