The Home Diaries | Downstairs Toilet ideas

If you follow my blog and social you’ll know that we’ve recently sold our house and are moving to a village. We’ve bought a new build house which means its a blank canvas and we can choose every element of the rooms including kitchen, flooring, bathroom tiles etc. I love interior design and decorating and I’m so excited to begin with such a plain white space and along with the furniture and items we already own create some really beautiful rooms. I’ve already shared some of our ideas for the Living room and this week its the much neglected room, so here are my downstairs toilet ideas.

We’re going to leave a lot of the house white but I really want to take the opportunity to make a bit of statement in the downstairs bathroom so I’m hoping to paint a statement wall behind the loo in dark grey. They’ll also be shelving full of storage baskets and possibly a couple of prints and I’d love to add some statement prints into the towels etc and spotted these gorgeous palm print towels and storage boxes at Next at the weekend. These are definitely on my new house shopping list! The benefit of adding prints in the towels etc is when the palm trend isn’t really my cup of tea anymore I can easily change it with just some new towels.

Flooring wise it will be  real wood flooring much like the rest of downstairs and any tiling will hopefully be white brick style tiles with dark grout!! In love with this style of grout and soooo much easier to keep clean.
