Victorian Semi Living Room Tour

Quite a heavy photo post today for my Victorian Semi Living Room Tour. Its taken me ages to share some snaps of our new living room/dining room. We live in a Victorian terrace and over the Summer we had the wall between the two rooms knocked down and decided to take the opportunity to redecorate too and I’ve been wanting to share the finished look for ages.

*
We opted for a taupe/grey and white palette of colours with mauve as an accent and decided on a feature wall of a richer toned mauve/grey. We added mismatched vintage frames all painted different colours and containing  wedding pics as a photo wall. We also sanded and stained our floorboards dark wood which took a long time but was really worth it.
Our sofa and map chair came from DFS we had meant to go for only a sofa but came back with a sofa, armchair and a pouffe!!!
*
The cute purple chair is from Wilko and was such a good buy at around £170. So many items came from Wilko as its one of my favourite places for homeawares, I actually chose the mauve colour because of their lovely mauve printed cushions you can see on my sofa and the feature wall colour was also Wilko too. The lovely PR team there were kind enough to gift me some pieces also alongside the many items we bought. See the bottom of the post for all item details.

Other details include a CD storage unit which the workshop at the theatre where I work made out of old crates and some beautiful oak for the top. Our farmhouse table came from eBay and we painted with Farrow and Ball, along with two vintage side tables which we painted, one of which houses our gorgeous Next dog lamp which I saw at their Press Day and knew I had to buy.
Our standard lamp was from a eBay too and I also painted this and added a simple taupe Ikea lampshade.
When we first moved in we cleaned off lots of paint from the tiles on the fireplace in the dining room. I was hoping to find beautiful ornate tiles, however what was revealed was some pretty ugly yellow marble ones so we decided to paint over them with the feature wall colour and glaze to bring that colour through to the dining room.
*
We spent ages trying to find two matching pendant lights and couldn’t find anything we liked until I spotted these quirky shades in The Range and for an incredible price of £11.99 each!!!
*
We also have lots of items from our wedding dotted around including our framed seating plan, cake toppers, lace lanterns and initial letters which I’d made and were on our top table.
And you might notice even Eddie has his own spot on his comfy sofa shaped dog bed.
