The Bora Aksu SS15 show was the first show of Day One at London Fashion Week. Held in the main BFC space at the centre of Somerset House it was a great way to start the day. The collection began with a palette of whites and soft blues and a gorgeous mixture of delicate sheer textures and intricately crocheted pieces too. There was a great use of layering and frills which kept everything very feminine and pretty.
The second half of the collection evolved to a palette of blues from rich navy to the most vibrant violet blue which I adored and the pieces themselves became heavier and bolder with brocade designs and 3d crochet appliques on longer length dresses. Lace was a big theme with sheer lace sleeves and lace panels and skirts and the most amazing jewelled headress for one look.
The show stopping piece was the floor length violet blue dress with amazing lace detail down the front and full veil. It had an incredibly eerie feel to it as it came down the catwalk. Its definitely a colour I’d love to include in my wardrobe for Spring Summer 2015.
Hair was kept very simple with a side swept long ponytail bound in fabric and
makeup was also simple with a slight pop of colour on the lips.
Overall I really liked the collection and especially the finale when the models gathered together and travelled down the catwalk on mass.
Pop back later for my photos and review of my second show of the day Ong-Oij Pairam and some phenomenal colours and prints.
