It seems like an age ago that I headed off with Emma to Marbella and even though the weather here is cold and dark here I just had to share a little bit of the Marbs sunshine on the blog today. I went to shoot Emma at the amazing Puente Romano Resort in Marbella and of course got some stunning shots for her. For the full scoop on how amazing this hotel and resort is and to check out some of the shots we got in this stunning location do read Emmas blog post.

I did take some snaps of my own on my Olympus Pen and so here are some of the highlights of this wonderful hotel and spa and also of course some of the yummy food we ate too.

The two bedroom suite we had was amazing. So light and airy in decor and the most stunning view of the sea. We each had our own room and private bathroom too plus a huge living space to chill out in and a private double balcony with sun loungers and seating. It honestly was stunning. All the rooms are set within really pretty botanical gardens too and are only 2 mins from the Puente Romano private beach.

The food while we were away was amazing. From steak and seafood in the Sea Grill Restaurant to a 7 course japanese tasting menu at the restaurant Uni we had some of the best food I've ever had on holiday. In particular the amazing burger with guacamole I ate on the last day at the pool bar was phenomenal. This resort has everything on the one site so we never went very far but to be honest we didn't need to, they even had their own Gluten free restaurant which is pretty cool. Of course I partook in a pina colada, my favourite cocktail on the first night which was blummin good. I also had a gorgeous mojito made with dark rum at the bar in BIBO which was so good too. As you can tell I pretty much judge my hotels by the quality of the cocktails, and the Puente Romano Resort got 5 stars from me!

The resort has a huge courtyard area of bars and restaurants with seating outside and fairy lights everywhere and I can imagine in high season this is such a great place to sit and drink and socialize. They also have their own nightclub which we were given a tour of and it was pretty special with some serious Marbs bling going on there. So cool.

Another really important element for me for is breakfast! Funnily enough I don't always eat breakfast at home but when I'm away I like a hotel with a good breakfast buffet, again the Puente Romano had everything. They even had a little gluten free section which I really liked. I had a little nosey what was there as I walked past with my plate laden up with pain au chocolat!! ha ha well I was on holiday after all.

Sadly we didn't always have sunshine but we spent a lovely day at the Puente Romano Spa. It had the most amazing pebble walkway to get into the spa with huge plunge pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room. All the walls had cascading water coming down including the glass walls that looked out onto the outdoor pool, plus we had the place to ourselves which was a bonus. It was lovely just to relax and chat. I also got to wear my new Figleaves swimsuit which hadn't seen any pool action outside as it wasn't quite warm enough.

Our visit to Marbella was lovely and I really loved the Puente Romano resort. It was huge and my photos don't even cover half of what was there. I wished we'd had more time to visit Marbella and head down into Puerto Banus which I really wanted to show Emma as I think she'd love it there, but hopefully we'll get to go one day!

I have another Marbella post coming just with a very quick look at what I wore as there were too many snaps to squeeze into the one post.

Thanks so much to the team at Puente Romano for looking after us both so well and of course to Emma for choosing probably the best location ever to shoot photos!

Take a look at the resorts website here.

Looks lovely! We stayed at the Marbella Club in June which was also absolutely divine. Really want to go back but I think we might try the Puente R next time!
