One of my favourite diys for my friends bedroom ma

One of my favourite diys for my friends bedroom makeover was the one that took me the longest. I know the trend now is to paint furniture but I decided to strip his painted bedside drawers back to wood with a combo of sanding and paint remover. It took A LOT of time. But after staining the bare pine with a grey/brown wash so you can still see the grain and a touch of @anniesloanhome silver wax on the corners I love the finished effect. Add on these chunky cup pull handles and they now have a real industrial vibe. I even lined the drawers with a concrete effect wallpaper. Swipe along for the before pic and the process. #bangondiy

Finally finished my fireplace (AD Pr products feat) I always felt despite how much better the surround looked than the old gas fire it still didn’t look quite finished. Thanks to some Pinterest browsing I decided to create a false alcove and shelf using some mdf and coving strip. I used all my @boschdiyandgarden 18V battery tools and the whole thing is painted in @makeitrustoleum Chalk White Paint.
It’s still a completely self contained unit so the only impact on the wall is the two screw holes used to attach and I have the option to add tiles around the alcove too. Swipe along to see the progress of this from when I moved in. Let me know what you think? #bangonhome #bangondiy

AD There are many Paws-itives of working from home with a dog but one big one is the daily walks with Gus. They are an opportunity to stop work for an hour, stop answering emails or calls and get some fresh air with my favourite little man. I know you all love my #debsdogwalks but they honestly do help keep me de-stressed and productive by forcing me to take a break and of course Gus gets his daily exercise. @purinauki has launched its Paws-itive Work campaign which is about helping owners create a positive environment for their pets whether that’s wfh or heading back to the office.
