My New Sofa from the DFS So Simple Range – Ad

January 20, 2020 4 Comments

It was a hard enough task moving house last year from my marital home and back in to rented so anything I could do to make it easier was a blessing. At first, I was stressed that my current sofa didn’t fit into my new place but of course I was also excited at the prospect of getting myself something new. In a lot of ways I didn’t know where to begin and also having to shop on my own too did worry me. My previous sofa had been DFS and so it was the first place I headed to look online and I discovered the DFS So Simple range and was immediately sold. The whole idea behind the DFS So Simple range is simplifying the process of buying a sofa but also offering a range that is modern and affordable and that is so easy to mix and match. The other great thing about this range is that the pieces are designed to be comfy but also compact and the three seater has all the seating space you would expect but designed into a more compact footprint, perfect for my slightly smaller rental home.

Choosing anything from the DFS So Simple range is as quick as three steps:

Step one - choose your style. There are 8 modern styles all with different names and each one has a unique shape, design details and feet style. I chose the Viv as although my style is very modern, I liked the slightly traditional feel of the curved arms and piping, contrasted with the overall classic and contemporary shape. I really like the low arms and style of driftwood feet too, which I chose in black, to tie in with the black elements in my rented property.

Step two – choose your size. Each style comes in a three-seater sofa, two-seater sofa, armchair, footstool and storage footstool. I chose the three-seater sofa which fits perfectly in my living room thanks to its clever compact footprint.

Step Three – Choose your fabric. The amazing thing is that you can choose every style in every fabric. I think that one of the biggest stresses when choosing sofas is when you find a style you like, but it doesn’t come in the colour you want, or vice versa. The So Simple range doesn’t have this problem. I was able to choose my Viv three-seater sofa in one of four fabrics; Simply Wool look, Simply Linen look, Simply Velvet or Simply Leather look. Each fabric comes in a huge range of colours too, from Steel Grey, to Quartz Blush, to Peacock teal. I chose Steel Grey Wool Look as it was a nice neutral grey which would work with the cushions and accessories I already owned and it had a lovely soft feel to it.

The whole So Simple range can be easily purchased online and in-store, every piece is made to order and comes with a 15 year guarantee. If like me, you want to test out the comfort of the sofas or see them in person, then the So Simple range, including all the fabric and colour options, can be viewed in select UK stores. You can also order fabric swatches online, so you can decide what combo to go for. I took mine home and was able to put them next to my current furniture and soft furnishings to help me choose.

I love the fact the range is so easy to order from. It really is as simple as three clicks. It’s great to have one less thing to have to stress about when moving house and doing it all on your own. That’s why I’m so happy to share my experience and shout about it here on the blog. Plus, I actually really enjoyed the whole process and my sofa came within six weeks, so not too long to wait either.

I also love that the range can be so easily mixed and matched. You could get a sofa in a wool or linen look in a neutral colour like grey and pair it with an armchair in the same style in teal or blue velvet for a real statement feature. I especially loved the Viv armchair in blue which they had in store. It looked classic and expensive and yet the range is so affordable.

My sofa the Viv starts at only £549 for a three-seater which I think is really good value.

I’ve added my favourite pink and palm cushions to my Viv three-seater sofa in Steel Grey - it looks beautiful in my living room and I’m so happy with it. There is so much inspo on the DFS Website on how other people have styled their So Simple pieces in to their homes, as well as on the #SoSimpleSofas hashtag on instagram.

If you have any questions at all about the DFS So Simple range do ask or chat to someone in store. Definitely take a look for yourself at all the styles and colour options available.

Hope you loved having a look at a little sneak peek of my new rented place. If you want to see the tour of my bedroom watch my Bedroom Tour Video here.

I love the colour of this sofa. I have bee searching for a grey sofa for my lounge but they all seemed a little too dark. This colour would be perfect for my lounge. It adds so much style to the room as well. Thank you for sharing xxx

I really love the so simple range but worried about comfort levels… As they are not available to try in store, anyone that has one -are they firm or soft?…
