Last week me and my Essex blogger pals headed to try out the Wivenhoe House Afternoon Tea to celebrate Laura's birthday. Wivenhoe House has been down the road from me for ages and I have never visited and I thought it would be a lovely treat for Laura and the team at Wivenhoe House looked after us so well.
Wivenhoe House is split into two sections; the older Grade II listed house and the modern Garden Wing. The house itself is stunning and is where the afternoon tea is served. We had ours in the large lounge and the room was stunning, very quiet and relaxing too. There was a large choice of teas included in the standard afternoon tea and I chose an orange flavoured one which was served with slices of fresh orange and was so yummy I drank two pots of the stuff!
Me and Laura were so lucky that being gluten free we had the option of a fully gluten free afternoon tea and Hannah was able to have a standard afternoon tea alongside. Hannah's tea was made up of fresh sandwiches, scones, cakes and desserts. Our gluten free selection was huge including sandwiches, scones, creme brulee (LOVE!!) and fruit kebabs.

There was so much food and we even were offered if we would like to take any of it home. The gluten free cakes and desserts were lovely, although I was a little jealous of Hannah's scones as ours were a little crumbly. However everything was so tasty and the staff were so lovely and attentive.
I would 100% recommend the afternoon tea at Wivenhoe House. I think its great value for money and the setting was just beautiful. You can add a glass of fizz to your afternoon tea for only a few pounds and I think this would be lovely. I would love to return one day and maybe stay in the hotel too as the rooms in the original house look stunning. The hotel has themed suites including one named after the famous Colchester warrior Boudicca as well as more modern rooms in the Garden Wing and the Bistro restaurant too.
You can see more of Wivenhoe House and the afternoon tea in my Weekly Vlog which will be live at 5pm today on my Youtube.
Thanks so much to Wivenhoe House for looking after us. Its well worth a visit if you need somewhere to eat or stay in Essex.
If you didn't catch my Summer Jumpsuit outfit from the day then you can see it here.

That afternoon tea looks amazing, it’s making me feel really hungry! It’s fab that it was so easy for them to accommodate different diets, and I LOVE the sound of those fruit kebabs
