Its pretty fitting that its National Christmas Jumper day today and here is my newest sparkly Christmas jumper purchase. I headed into town last weekend for a little Christmas shopping spree and to take part in a shopping challenge I'd been set by boon. boon payment app utilizes Apple pay to help you shop quickly and using only your phone. I had to find a Christmas jumper, a party outfit, a party accessory and a gift for a Secret Santa.
boon is free to download and takes 2 seconds to set up. Before I headed into town I had to add my boon payment card to my Apple Wallet which lets me use the credit in the Boon app with Apple pay. You can use Apple Pay anywhere that has contactless so your not too limited to where you can shop.
My jumper came from the very first shop I was in and I paid simply by opening Apple Pay, selecting boon card and holding the phone over the contactless terminal. You can then either use your fingerprint to pay or your access code.
My party outfit was this gorgeous chiffon dress which I'd had my eye on for ages. I think this will look so nice for Christmas day with ankle boots and then also styled up with heels and a clutch for drinks out on Boxing Day. My party accessory is this simple gold necklace which will sit so nicely with the deep v on the dress. Both of these were from H&M and again very easy to buy using the contactless terminal and Apple Pay. I could also keep an eye on how much I'd spent by opening the boon app itself where all my transactions appeared almost immediately.
I also was tasked with finding a Secret Santa gift but from a Charity Shop. I love a charity shop bargain and so many of them have contactless terminals that you can use your Boon credit there too. I found this cute New Look duffle bag for only £3.50 and I know my Secret Santa will love this so much.
boon payment app also has a competition running where you can win yourself boon credit. boon for charity is all about the amazing bargains to be found in charity shops - every month the winner with the best charity shop purchase wins £100 credit for themselves and £100 for charity.
You can enter by snapping your best charity shop bargain and tagging it with #boonforcharity on Facebook, Instagram or through the website.
The boon payment app is essentially a pre-pay Mastercard that you can use with Apple Pay. You can easily top it up either manually or automatically and keep an eye on all your transactions within the app. The app is free to download and uses strong security to protect your payment info.
I really liked the app. It was easy to see how much I'd spent and easy to use, especially once I'd set up Touch ID on my iPhone. There are three levels of boon which give you varying amounts of credit levels and top up methods but there aren't any hidden fees.
A great little app and a great way to avoid carrying all your cards around.
Have your tried out Apple Pay yet? Would you try boon? And do let me know which item I bought is your fave?
