Now that the temperature is dropping I am all about layering up for Winter. The best thing about layers is that when you head inside you can strip all those layers off and warm up. This is especially useful in London when you have to travel on the tube!!  There's nothing worse than being bundled up for the cold and boiling to death on the Central line.

Layering up for Winter is all about adding lots of textures and colours too. I've layered up grey and camel and I love how soft a palette of colours it is. Plus I've mixed textures from chunky and ribbed knits to silky cami vests for ultimate layering.

I'm layering a chunky cardi under my camel coat and trust me when I say this was super cosy. This cardi is pretty much a coatigan but is so soft and fits under the jacket perfect, but its long enough to peek out a little bit as well as the sleeves. The key to layering up a cardigan under your coat is that it should be slightly longer and even better fold back the sleeves of your coat to really show the knit under.

The dream of the layering look is of course this chunky rib knit scarf. Sadly this one is sold out now but I've linked lots of suitably cosy alternatives in the widgets below. This bad boy wraps around three times and that gives the real full on layering look to this outfit, plus of course the bobble hat too. The bobble hat is everyone's friend, good for cold ears and bad hair days - win, win.
For full on layering I'm also wearing a simple black cami over a tshirt too. This was the key layering look for Autumn and it still works great for Winter too. Especially if the cami is velvet and you layer a polo neck under. I love this kind of layering.

Finally my coat is the came coat of dreams. Its the softest brushed mohair and is lovely and slightly over-sized so suits layering under perfectly.

So here are some of my picks for items to help you layer your outfit for Winter, from coats, to knits to scarves and lots of them are already on offer thanks to early Black Friday deals!! Whoop!
