NEW YORK SHOPPING HAUL

If you read my NYC Travel Diary and Tips you’ll know that although we traveled on a bit of a budget I did have a little money that I’d saved up to treat myself to a few things whilst in NYC.  I had saved for a while and knew that I really wanted to visit the Kate Spade flagship store on Madison and treat myself to a handbag plus I did want to pick up a few bits in Sephora too. Here’s a look at some of the bits I bought in my New York Shopping Haul.

First up was Kate Spade. The flagship store was gorgeous and I actually have so many photos of it I plan to do a post all about it. I spent a while choosing my bag and the staff were so lovely. I knew I wanted something small and able to be worn cross body and also something that would be as versatile and wearable as possible.
In the end I chose this gorgeous Holden Street Small Lanie bag in textured black leather.

The bag is so pretty and has 14 karat gold hardware. Its a great size and fits my camera and wallet etc in perfectly. I also purchased a cute fushia Cedar wallet which happened to be in the sale, the Tackle Box stationery set which was also in the sale (win!!) which is for my new blog desk set up and I’d had my eye on before I went to NYC.

I also snapped up another silver bangle with glass details which sits nicely with my plain silver bangle that I purchased a while back from the Kate Spade store in London.

I hadn’t planned to purchase anything at Tiffany I mostly just wanted to visit the famous store. I’m lucky enough to have two Tiffany necklaces from my husband and its my dream to own a Tiffany key. I know my husband would love to buy me the large Tiffany key I really want when he can afford it so I treated myself to a mini Tiffany Key pendant in the meantime. Its so pretty and delicate and looks lovely on.

Of course I visited Sephora and picked up a few beauty bits.  I’d wanted to try a beauty blender for ages and so picked up the Sephora Painter Airbrush one to test it out. So far I love it, it gives such a nice finish to my foundation and I’m definitely a sponge convert.  I also bought a Sephora liquid liner with an angled tip. It has a deep black colour which is great but I must admit I’m still getting used to the angled tip. Think I need more practice. I also purchased Benefit Hoola which I had tried in a travel size and knew I loved it but its taken me ages to buy the full size.

Lastly I was so excited to spot this Ciate x Olivia Palermo mini nail polish set. I wanted to put it on my Christmas list but it promptly sold out everywhere so when I spotted it I snapped it up. Its a collection of mini sizes of the Olivia Palermo polishes and I love every colour. So happy to have found this.

I also picked up some bits from a normal drugstore which had an amazing collection of makeup and beauty and I could have gone mad but I just bought three items. First an Essie nail polish in the colour Watermelon which I had wanted last summer but couldn’t find. Its the perfect bright pink for summer so very happy to find it. Also I bought two EOS lip balms which again I’ve wanted to try for ages. They retail for around £7 in the UK but in the US they are like $4.50 so much cheaper. There has been some stories recently of EOS balms drying your lips out more and I have found that to be true with the Sweet Mint one so I’ve stopped using it but the Coconut Milk one is gorgeous and smells lush.

I also did a bit of clothes shopping in the HUGE h&m and the Forever 21 in Times Square. I partly shopped as we were heading off to Orlando and the weather was set to be a bit cooler than I’d packed for. So I picked up this khaki bomber and check shirt in H&M, plus a NYC tee at a souvenir shop. In Forever 21 I bought this cute knot bracelet and black cuff. It is one of my favourite places to buy jewellery and their accessories section really is to die for!
