One of my favourite things about Christmas has to be food and drink. I love stocking up the house with tasty food for the festive period and I love some of the flavours that are around this time of year like spices and cinnamon. I was definitely excited then to try out some of the Co-Op Sourced Locally range all sourced from some of the best suppliers in and around East Anglia. Co-Op kindly sent me vouchers to choose some products myself and I got so many tasty treats.

First up were some gorgeous products from the deli collection, these Dan Hull chilled items were really yummy. The Winterslaw had a lovely spicy flavour and was a really nice twist on traditional coleslaw. The Duck pate was really really tasty. We had it as our starter on Christmas day with some mini toast slices and salad and really enjoyed the cherry topping.

I picked up this Scarlett & Mustard Rudolph’s Fruity left over curry sauce. They make a range of sauces, dressings and marinades. This sauce is a fruity curry flavour and will be perfect with leftover turkey I reckon. I can’t wait to try it!

At Christmas I love to buy cheese. Its pretty much the only time of year I do seeing as I shouldn’t eat it. But when I do buy it I love cheese on crackers and chutney. This chutney is a Christmas one so I’m expecting spices and warmth and I also love the little jar its in, its so sweet!.

My other half loves ice cream so I picked up this Alder Tree Christmas flavoured ice cream made just down the road in Suffolk. We had it as an alternative dessert on Christmas day and it was really rich and creamy. I’d like to try more of their standard flavours too.

Of course no Christmas would be complete without mince pies and these shortcrust mince pies are handmade from scratch by Leggs Bakery. They are literally huge!!! I love that they are much more rustic and chunkier than usual mass produced mince pies and they tasted amazing.

As I sit and write this I am literally wolfing this chocolate bar down. Made by Hadleigh Maid it has the lovely Christmassy flavour of orange and trust me has not lasted long at all!!

I really love that Co-Op stocks these sourced locally ranges. You find in store that they are often collected together in one area so its easy to shop them. I also picked up Co-Op’s Prosecco for New Years Eve, which although not sourced locally is their own brand and really well priced!!

Thank you so much to Co-Op for the tasty Christmas treats. Let me know if you like to shop locally? Which of these would be your festive treat of choice??
