I picked up the Ciate Flower Bada Boom Manicure set from Vente Privee. It was the bargain price of £7 which for a kit that retails at £18 made me so happy. It took a little longer to arrive but I bought this and the Ciate Dolls House set too in the Ciate sale which I’ll post about separately.

The set comes beautifully packaged with floral design inner box with window style design. Inside is the base colour in a mini size which for this set is Ferris Wheel, a large pot of clear top coat, two pots of real dried flowers and tweezers and a mini nail file.
The other Ciate Flower manicure set Strike A Posey  has a pink base coat and blue and yellow flowers.

You apply two or three coats of the base colour (which btw I keep wearing on its own as I love it so much )
then apply a thick coat of top coat to one nail, pick a flower with the tweezers and apply to the nail. It should stick to the top coat but press it down with the tweezers. This was the hardest bit. Quite often the flower wouldn’t lie flat so lots of top coat helps to soften the flower. The big spray purple flowers were most tricky and I found chopping them down before applying helped. Also if you try to move the flower one applied you will find it removes your base coat and makes one hell of a mess. It was a great deal of trial and error and of course my left hand was the best!! Then apply two thick coats of top coat to seal the flowers in.

I used the pink from my dolls house kit and alternated the blue and pink base colour for my look. I really loved the effect of this kit. I found it was not as easy as it looked but the overall look was worth it as it was very pretty and different. My favourite was the blue nail with the lavender flower on it but easiest to apply were the red flowers.

There were also some bright blue flowers which I might try over a plain white or lilac nail??

Have you tried any Ciate nail kits? What do you think of my floral manicure??
