Its not all about LFW – Cambridge Style Week & John Lewis

February 11, 2013 1 Comment
Yesterday I was lucky enough to attend the John Lewis and Cambridge Style Weeks blogger breakfast. It was a prelude to what’s to come at Cambridge Style Week 20th – 24th February and a chance for John Lewis to introduce us to some of their services and their new lines some of which will be showcased at CSW.

Cambridge Style Week is a series of fashion shows and events all over Cambridge showcasing some of Cambridge’s upcoming and established designers as well as shopping experiences and live performances.
Its the first event of its kind in this area and even if your not Cambridge based head over to the website and take a look at whats happening.

The blogger breakfast was a great event and John Lewis’s first ever.
We were welcomed into John Lewis Cambridge before shop opening hours and provided with yummy pastries and coffee in the stores brasserie. Each table had been wonderfully decorated with bright accessories and props.

Split into two groups we were taken to the stores Lingerie department and shown some of the beautiful lines John Lewis stocks including Elle Mcpherson and Calvin Klein and told about their Bra fitting service which caters for all sorts of clients.
*
Next stop was the Fashion Advice consultation suite where one to one appointments are held to help anyone for free with style and clothing advice.

Next door we were taken through some of the new ranges for Spring including the range Somerset exclusively designed for John Lewis by Alice Temperley and some amazing prints from Mint Velvet and John Lewis’s own range Collection Weekend – I especially loved the floral print trousers from this range.

Some of the new ranges are incredibly modern and bang on trend and I was impressed as I always previously perceived John Lewis as more for the middle aged lady (terrible I know) but I saw several things I am now coveting for my own wardrobe.
Finally we were all given a free gift thanks to a blogger lucky dip and I went home with a lovely Cath Kidson handcream.

I was incredibly impressed with the ranges at John Lewis and thoroughly enjoyed the blogger event. It was John Lewis’s first blogger event and hopefully the first of many as it was wonderfully organised and they made us all feel very welcome.

John Lewis will be showcasing some of their lines at Cambridge Style week’s Best Of British Show as well as the Spring Summer preview event. If you haven’t yet heard of Cambridge Style Week here’s all the juicy details so you can grab yourself a ticket before they sell out.

Cambridge Style Week also has a competition on their blog to win a Cambridge Satchel – enter it here  as well as lots of info regarding Cambridge Style Week itself.

The whole thing is very exciting and a great event for the local area and for Cambridge fashion. I’m Essex based but still plan to go over for some of the events. Which do you like the sound of?
Would you go to Cambridge Style Week?

    Hi lovely :)
I was at the blogger brekkie too (and working with CSW) but I didn’t get to meet you so I thought I’d stop by and say hello! I love your post and the way you edited the photos – looks adorable.
Which events are you planning to come to? I hope to see you there
