My Very Vintage Dress

I was contacted by Marks and Spencers and asked to share my favourite vintage dress story here on the blog.
Above is my most favourite dress which I bought from the Etsy and had shipped over from the US. Its a 1950’s prom style dress with sweetheart neckline, dusky pink and grey floral print and a gorgeous pink peekaboo lining.
I bought it for my friends wedding and wore it with a black net underneath to really kick the skirt out and teamed it with a vintage handbag and classic side bun. It was perfect for a October wedding as it featured grey with a lovely splash of colour in the pink and I felt so special in it all day.

I love vintage dresses as they are made so beautifully and quite often by hand and always have a history and a story behind them.  They also have such a great feminine shape to them, especially the 1950’s ones with their bodice style tops and lovely flared skirts. The High Street draws on vintage styles for this very reason and also because certain styles and shapes will always be timeless.
This Dogtooth Dress from Marks and Spencer’s New AW12 range
is certain to stand the test of time and be a great investment piece.

Mini Dogtooth Print Dress with Belt

It has a wonderful flare skirt and pleated front which give it a real classic feel and the dogtooth material is perfect for the Heritage trend this Autumn Winter which is all about classic lines and traditional fabrics. I would team it with a smart winter coat and I’m sure it would be the kind of dress you could bring out every Autumn/Winter for years to come.
