Black is the new Black & Shortlist Shocker!

August 23, 2011 7 Comments
So I’m currently in Edinburgh at the Fringe Festival doing makeup and Stage Management on a show called Wretch. This means my wardrobe has become slightly limited this week to the colour black!
Therefore my outfit posts this week will all look exactly like this this:
We do get to wear these very cool hoodies and some branded bags and lanyards (Which I made!!) but this is the extent of my wardrobe this week.
I have packed every black item I own but I have been mixing it up a bit by wearing my favourite vintage jewellery alongside and  I am sporting some fabulously unsuitable-for-moving-scenery-everyday Leopard nails courtesy of the wonderful Gem Fatale and her tutorial.
They are fakes and have so far survived, lets see if they make it till the end of the week.
So my show had its opening night last night and the day was pretty crazy and stressful. But at about 5.30pm I got the most amazing tweet from
LOOK magazine saying I had been shortlisted in the top 20 blogs for the LOOK show Blogger Competition.
I did actually scream the flat we re staying in down! I got through based on my entry post HERE which I  tried to make original, honest and quirky – which I think represents me and my blog pretty accurately.
Thank you for everyone who tweeted or commented on the post saying how much they enjoyed it. Thank you also to my parents who poured over all my childhood photos and chose some of the worst they could find. I am happy to have shamed myself with all those god awful photos for the amazing privilege of being shortlisted.
Now of course there is the long wait till next Tuesday when we discover who has made the top 5. I m truly hoping I make it through, not just because I’d love to attend the LOOK show and get to blog about it, but because I may stand the chance of meeting some of my fellow bloggers whom I follow and love like
She’s Called Claire (who you guys will remember featured my shop not long ago), Dressing Miss Dolly, and Temporary Secretary as well as loads of other great bloggers who made it through.
In the meantime as my outfits this week will be limited to black I will be blogging other peoples Fringe Festival Fashion that I spy and as I have already found some amazing Vintage shops here in Edinburgh I will share these with you later in the week too.

Thank you all for following and for commenting, every single one means the world to me. And please please keep your fingers crossed for me.
