Wedding Outfit post 2 – The Hair Comb and the Handbag

June 29, 2011 1 Comment
So with the dress found (See dress post here) I moved on to the handbag and the handmade hair comb. I found this gorgeous Vintage 1920’s pearl evening bag at a bootsale for £1 about 2 months ago and I’ve fully repaired and restored it and added a pretty ribbon wrist strap.

I’m so pleased with it. Its an extremely heavy piece as its all glass faux pearls and although it has taken a few hours to restore it, it has totally been worth it. So this will be my bag for the day. As we staying in the house where my brother is getting married I only need to carry money ( I can pop upstairs for makeup touch ups) so the size is perfect.
Following the theme I wanted to incorporate some pearls into my hair comb. Unlike the silver Handmade Vintage Bridal Haircombs on Bang On Vintage I wanted to make a gold one for the wedding. I have made it out of a vintage flower brooch, two vintage earrings and then interwoven with pearl beads. Here’s how it looks

I’m really pleased with it – its quite delicate and the gold ties in really well with the dress and the pearls tie in with the handbag.
I also really wanted to showcase my Handmade Vintage bridal range within my outfit as I’m really proud of it.
