ALDI Lacura Charcoal Mud Mask review

ALDI Lacura charcoal range review

I do like a good affordable skincare product and when I spotted that ALDI were making a mud mask very similar to the well loved Glam Glow at almost a fifth of the price I had to snap it up and try it. Clearly so did everyone else as this ALDI Mud Mask is sold out online, well of course it would at only £5.99 but you will find it still in stores along with other items from the Lacura Charcoal skincare range. I decided to pick up a few bits and properly test them all out and do a full ALDI Lacura Charcoal Mud Mask review for you here on the blog. My last Aldi skincare review post was so popular so it was about time I did another one.

I've wanted to try the GlamGlow mud mask for ages and as I wanted something to really clarify and brighten my skin and hopefully help my pores but the price did put me off at over £35!!! The ALDI Lacura charcoal mud mask claims to do all this at a mere snip of the price.

The tub is 50ml which is a good size I think and similar to Glamglow. It has a nice thick texture and goes on really nice. Once on it tingles the skin, which you would expect. I apply it to my face concentrating on my forehead, cheeks nose and chin. The ingredients include eucalyptus which is what gives the slight tingling/cool feeling. Leave it on till dry and then wash off with warm water. I use it once a week and it does say not to use more than twice a week. The clay ingredients are what give the skin that mattified look as they soak up the excess oils and my skin does always look so much better after. Its left soft too and definitely brighter which is no doubt down to the glycolic acids which remove dead skin cells.

All in all I really really like this mask. My skin feels lovely afterwards and I can definitely see a brightening effect. It does have a habit of sticking in some of my larger pores but I tend to use a flannel to really clean my skin after. For the £5.99 price tag its a great buy and if I spot it next time I'm shopping I definitely going to pop another tub in my trolley for when this one runs out.

Other items in the ALDI Lacura Charcoal skincare range are the Lacura Charcoal Micellar Water and the Lacura Charcoal face Wipes.

I picked up both and quite like both. The Micellar water is much better than other high street versions I've tried and gets off my eye make no problem. It has better cleansing power to my skin than others too. I feel like my skin is clean afterwards. I think its maybe a tiny bit more drying than my usual micellar water but I do like how well it takes off my makeup. The micellar water is only £1.99 too so a blummin bargain. I would definitely buy this again.

The Lacura Charcoal wipes I use more when I have a breakout as they do contain witch hazel which is drying on your skin every day. But I like them for a quick option to swipe over my already cleansed skin to really help if I have for example a spotty chin. I find they help dry them out and get rid of them quicker. The wipes feel heavier than a standard wipe and I think were a similar price to the micellar water. I'm definitely going to finish the pack but I probably wouldn't repurchase only because I don't really use facewipes (or try not to).

Hope you liked my ALDI lacura Charcoal Mud Mask review. I'd love to know if you've tried any of the ALDI Charcoal range? There is also a Mud to Foam Cleanser in the range which is £5.99 which I haven't tried. Let me know if you pick up any of the range to try and let me know what you think?

I love Aldi and their price friendlier versions of high street skincare ranges. This all sound fab, definitely checking out if anything’s left in my local store.

Like you, I’ve wanted to try GlamGlow for some time, but just couldn’t justify the price tag!
This option looks and sounds a great try. Might have to pop in and see for myself. :)

I’m loving the Aldi beauty products lately and like you really enjoy using the Charcoal mask. The hot cloth cleanser is fantastic if you haven’t tried that yet – I’m just waiting for it to hit stores again so I can stock up.

I’m interested in trying the mud mask. Can you advise if it’s suitable for mature skin,p. I’m 55yrs old and my skin tend s to lack moisture so don’t want to dry it out

I would say it is quite drying Saida. I would try one of the tissue masks instead from places like Superdrug which are much kinder and nourishing to skin!

There is no end of the benefits of charcoal and mud for beauty treatments. I have used their mixture to treat my acne prone skin and it works effectively for keeping skin free from them. Thanks and keep sharing.

the charcoal face mask is very thick and very hard to squeeze out of the tube, for this reason I have not used it yet. does the tube need to be warmed first to soften the product. if not then ALDI, its better off in a jar.
