Why sometimes its scary to wear something new

Considering I live most of the Winter in a bobble hat I don't know why the idea of wearing a baker boy hat freaked me out so much. I'll be honest I wasn't 100% sure I could pull it off and mostly bought one for London Fashion Week as I thought it was going to rain and it would protect my hair!! ha ha. I even asked on insta stories what people thought as I was so unsure. I wish I'd just had more confidence as I blummin love this hat on me. I think I look great. There I said it. There is nothing wrong with looking in the mirror and thinking "Damn I look gooood today!"
I wore this hat all day in London and felt super confident and really stylish too which I'll be honest I don't always. I like to dress really simple and casual but I don't often feel like I look chic or "trendy" so I'm so glad I took the leap and invested in this key accessory. Baker Boy hats are all over the high street at the moment. This one was from Accessorize and although is described as a military hat it has that baker shape. I've linked lots more of my faves at the bottom of this post.

COAT - Esmara at LIDL | TEE | TROUSERS - Zara | BAG - Zara | HAT | EARRINGS

There's a couple of other favourite bits in this outfit too. The jacket is from the Esmara Collection which is that collection by Heidi Klum for Lidl and its been in my wardrobe since I was sent it by a pr.  I loved how well it went with this look when I tried it on so it got its first outing. Its a thinner style so very much a Spring jacket, but I love the draped shape and the leopard lining is so cute too. You might also notice my little bucket bag. I have wanted one for an AGE! I spotted this one in the Zara sale on my way back from LFW day one and snapped it up for a amazing price of £9.99! Such a bargain. Zara has a new bucket bag version online designed more for Spring, which is half rattan and is really cute too.

I don't know why I was so scared to wear something new. I guess the moral of the story is don't be afraid to try out something new. I'm definitely going to try to get lots of wear out of this baker boy hat and be sure to feel confident to totally rock it.

I'd love to know if there are things you are scared to try wearing? Would you try wearing a baker boy hat?

I completely understand your feelings Debs! I’m always the same with new trends.
I out mine down to age.lol Plus location. I feel where you live can have an impact on your clothing/style choices.
Cities seem to be a lot better places to ‘experiment’ with style. But being a country/seaside bumpkin, it’s easy to feel ‘out of place’.
But that’s not to say that you can’t be individual, that’s just my thinking!
The baker boy is something I’m ummed and ahhed over for a while myself and had kinda wrote off, however the other day whilst in a shop, I tried one on and before I could comment my friend commented ‘that really suits you!’ – Sold. :p
    And it does you too!
