Today's post is another DIY and this one will literally take you 5 minutes. Its super fast and takes only two items and two bits of equipment to make. Its my 5 minute fluffy stool diy.

These shaggy fluffy stools are everywhere but they usually come with a hefty price tag. This one costs around Ā£10/15 to make and looks so cute.
All you need is the IKEA Maruis stool which comes in white or black and is Ā£3.25!!!!!! Now if you fancy a jazzy gold stool then before you complete the below steps give your stool a spray with a primer and then a gold spray which would look soooo pretty. But this stool is for my dressing table and I wanted it left white.

My fluffy cushion is one I've had for ages from La Redoute but you could also use a cheaper version from Primark who have a pink one for Ā£6 or Matalan who do one that comes in pink and grey among other colours for Ā£10.
I used a glue gun but if you don't have one you could also use spray adhesive.

So here's what to do.

you will need

FLUFFY CUSHION | IKEA MARIUS STOOL| SCISSORS | GLUE GUN

STEP ONE

Build your IKEA marius stool as per the instructions. As I said if you wanted a gold stool now is the time to spray it!

STEP TWO

Take your cushion inner out of your fluffy cushion cover and cut open one end. You want to remove about half the stuffing, focusing on removing it from the corners especially. You want to end up with the stuffing in the centre in a sort of round shape.

STEP THREE

Pop your cushion inner back in your cushion cover and zip up. Lay it on the floor fur side down. Pop your stool upside down on it in the centre. As you can see the Marius stool has legs that cross over underneath and creates four triangle shapes on the base. Line your four corners of your cushion up with these.

STEPĀ FOUR

Apply some hot glue or spray adhesive to the first triangle quarter and then fold the cushion cover corner on to it. Pressing down to stick it. Try to only stick the fabric backing of the cushion and keep the the fur out so the stool will be nice and fluffy.

STEPĀ FIVE

Repeat with the opposite triangle and fold this corner of cushion cover onto the glue. Then do the last two corners also. When you get to your last corner make sure your cushion wadding has stayed central and not headed into the corner. Squeeze it back into the centre before glueing this last corner.

STEPĀ SIX

If you want your stool to have more of a square top finish then leave the corner. If not, dot some glue either side of the leg and loosely fold the excess corner cushion cover into the glue and hold still stuck.Again try not to get the fluffy fur caught in the glue. Repeat for all corners.

FINISHED!

And that's it! Finished!! How quick is that? I love this stool for my dressing table, so fast to do and so cheap too. I think it would look great done with white cushion onto the black IKEA Marius stool.

Hope you like this 5 minute fluffy stool DIY. If you don't fancy the DIY version I've linked some of my fave fluffy stools below.
