Elf Cosmetics review – New Collections

I was so lucky to get my hands on a huge pile of elf Cosmetics new releases when I went to their event in central London a few months ago and I've been test driving all the products ever since. Elf Cosmetics have been around for a while, I remember buying huge hauls of stuff online years ago especially the nail polish which was like £2.50 a bottle. Now elf is back on my radar with some gorgeous new collections and as its now being stocked in Superdrug so you'll be able to pop down and buy this affordable cosmetics brand in-store. Here is a little elf Cosmetics review of all the bits I've been trying and I'll let you know which are my faves.

The elf packaging has had a sleek looking makeover. It's simple black packaging is really nice and modern and I also really like the frosted and silver packaging for the primers too. Price points are still great with foundations at around £9, palettes around £12 and lipsticks around £6. The palette above is the elf Nude Rose Palette and is £12.50. Its filled with 10 shadows both matt and shimmer and all in the rose gold tones. The shadows have good pigmentation, blend really well and the colours are really pretty. I've been using this palette alot and as its quite narrow its not too big to take away with you or chuck in your handbag.

The elf B.Bare Face palette is really really pretty. The square compact palette has a bronzer, highlighter and two blushes inside as well as a mirror and all four are lovely subtle shades. This silver palette is really dreamy and I loved the shades inside plus its only £9 which is a bargain I think.

A couple of other great products are the elf Lip Scrub which is in the black lipstick packaging and is yummy cherry flavoured. I wasn't too sure about how to use this if I'm honest but it did make my lips soft and did smell great too.

I also really liked the elf Moisturizing Eye Primer. Its a simple black pump bottle and the cream itself was lovely underneath my makeup. I've been using this everyday and think its a good price too at only £4.50.

The elf baked highlighter and blusher duo was cute. It was a tiny bit too shimmery for me but is a neat little item and the colour of the highlighter is lovely.

The Elf black liner pen was a good item too. It had a nice black colour and I really liked the thicker nib style, plus it had pretty good staying power too.

One of my favourite products has to be the elf Brightening Primer. This purple toned primer aims to brighten the skin with its colour correcting. I loved this. It had a gorgeous texture to it (bit like Porefessional) which blended into my pores and smoothed my skin out. Plus the lavender tint did improve my skin tone too. I loved the packaging of this product especially. There's also an elf Blemish primer, Green neutralizing primer and Illuminating primer too.

Another product I've been using every day is the elf Eyebrow pencil. It has two ends; a brown end to fill your brows and a lighter end which is for highlighting and lifting your brows. The brown end is too warm for my brows but I LOVE the lift end. I've been using it directly above and below my brows and blending it to really define them and its fab.

Elf also has a range of brushes and I got to try out the elf Large Blender brush.  I really like the clear design and the brush itself is soft and lovely. Its great for blending off the Loose elf HD Powder which is another great product. It is quite a fine powder that sets makeup as well as creating a soft focus finish to skin. I really liked it.

I was really impressed with the elf bits I tried out. Several of them have made it into my everyday makeup routine and I always think thats the true sign that you really like something.

Hope you liked my elf cosmetics review. Have you tried any elf makeup?? What were your thoughts?

I have that highlight and blush combo. It’s one of my favourites!
Their loose powder is fab too. Highly underrated in my opinion!

I recently bought my first Elf hydrating primer and Flawless finish foundation and I’m really enjoying them! I think I need to get my hands on the loose HD powder too

Gosh – they have had a swanky make over. I like the new sleeker look. I am also so pleased that they’re back and in Superdrug which makes it so much easier to get hold of. I am excited to pop down and see what new products take my fancy. I love the look of that eyeshadow palette

I love e.l.f, and I’m so disappointed they stopped stocking their nail polish on their UK site – it was SO cheap!

I’m obsessed with their baked blush and baked highlighter ranges but have a lot of the other items above as well. Every now and then I go on a bit of a spree… :)

The only item I’ve been disappointed with is the eye liner pen – mine dried out after just a few uses so it was pretty rubbish.

Hi Sarah, Yeah I agree about the liner, it didn’t last did it?
