Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser review

I'd been wanting to try the Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser for ages and it seems like moons ago that I finally took the plunge and bought some. I actually purchased a whole bundle of bits when Liz Earle had an offer on. For £45 I got a 150ml Eye Bright Lotion, 200ml Instant Boost Skin Tonic, 50ml Skin Repair Moisturizer and then the Hot Cloth Cleanser. As they had run out of the 200ml Hot Cloth Cleanser which the offer was supposed to come with they were offering instead 150ml Original Hot Cloth Cleanser and a 100ml Rose and Lavender Hot Cloth Cleanser. Also included was a muslin cleansing cloth plus a choice of black or brown mascara and a small travel size bottle of Eye Bright Lotion. So a pretty impressive bundle for £45, plus with free delivery I was super happy.

I've been using everything for a few months now and thought it was about time I shared my thoughts on the blog as the Hot Cloth Cleanser is a bit of a cult product. So here's my Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser review as well as all the other bits too.

So first up is the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser itself. To use you apply to a dry face massaging in then wetting your cloth in hand hot water use the cloth to cleanse off the cream and finish with a splash of cold water. I love the smell of the cream. I'm normally not a fan of overly scented products but this smells like creams used in a facial and really makes me feel like I'm giving my skin a treat. I like to wet my cloth with hot water and then place it on my face for a minute before using it to wipe off the cream and with it any dirt, impurities etc. My skin always feels really really clean after using the cleanser and very soft too, so I have been using it very regularly. A little goes a long way so a bottle does last a while. I haven't yet tried the Rose and Lavender one as I have been working my through the original bottle but I imagine it smells gorgeous. I can definitely see why its such a cult product and so loved. The only down side is being on top of keeping your muslin cloth clean, so its definitely worth having a couple but it does cleanse your skin much better than a cotton pad and definitely better than a wipe!!

I also liked the other products too. Firstly the Eye Bright Soothing Lotion. I've actually been using my travel sized one so haven't even opened this large bottle. This product contains witch hazel and aloe vera as well as the herb eyebright and is designed to sooth tired and puffy eyes. I liked this product and have been using it alot. Its like a water consistency and is definitely refreshing. You can use it by sweeping a soaked cotton pad over your eyes but for a longer treat soak two cotton pads in the lotion and apply to eyelids for 10 minutes which sounds lovely! I use it in the morning to wake up my eyes but I do also use it to sweep over any spots as its witch hazel content is an astringent and does help reduce redness I've found.

The Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturizer is a good little product. I chose the one for combination skin and I find its non greasy but nice and creamy. Its a nice day cream to put on and I tend to use it in a morning about 10 minutes before I put my makeup on. I like it but I wouldn't say its my favourite item in the bundle.

Lastly the Instant Boost Skin Tonic. Its designed to be used after the Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser and is essentially a toner. It has cucumber and aloe vera ingredients so is non drying too. I love the twist cap which makes it super easy to use and I really like how its nourishing rather than drying which was noticeable. This is definitely one of my faves of the bundle.

*

So my hero products are definitely the Cleanse & Polish hot Cloth Cleanser and the Instant Boost Skin tonic and I think I would definitely repurchase. the only negative at all I would have is that the Liz Earle website is a little hard to navigate. Its not that easy to find specific single products as bundles do always come up at the top of the list but in saying that there are some amazing deals to be found on bundles so definitely worth checking out!

Let me know if you've tried the Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser or what your fave Liz Earle product is??

I wasn’t a massive fan of the moisturiser, and I’d say that was my least favourite from the bundle too. I found it a bit too scented and just not quite what I wanted for the price. But I do love the cleanser and tonic. You hit the nail on the head when you said the cleanser smells like the products used in a spa! I’d never realised it before, but you’re so right. They’re lovely and gentle and do last for ages. I like to try new products but these are some of my old favourites that I seem to gravitate back to.

Ooh Liz Earle has a special place in my heart! As I grew up on the Isle of Wight, Liz Earle was everywhere! I remember using the hot cloth cleanser as part of my first ever skincare routine and I still use it 10 years later. SO. GOOD. Immy x

I’ve been using Liz Earle products since day one over 20 years ago. I wouldn’t use anything else on my skin. Love all the products & their Customer Service is the best I’ve ever come across.

Oh I used to use this but haven’t for ages because I’ve been using oil based cleansers recently. I’m really looking for something like that tonic right now so I will have to check it out. Not sure what my fave product from Liz Earle is, but I’m using their Superskin Eye Cream at the moment and I really like it – it feels rich without being heavy or difficult to work in.

I absolutely love this post, I’ve loved the hot cloth cleanser for a while now but it’s been insightful reading about the other products!
