My Transform Experience inc Botox Before and After photos UPDATED

April 16, 2018 14 Comments

Several weeks ago I headed to London to visit a brand new clinic which has opened just a stones through away from Bank Station. The Cornhill Clinic is a gorgeous modern surgery hosting several brands including Transform who are a huge national cosmetic surgery provider. Transform is offering both surgical and non-surgical procedures from The Cornhill Clinic and I headed down there with the hope of having a treatment myself.
I'd known for a while that I wanted to try Botox. Its something that I'd previously thought looked very fake and extreme and living in Essex I've seen a lot of very "plastic" looking foreheads.  But in the last year or so having seen how naturally it could be done and trusting such a well known company as Transform to do it I decided the event would be the perfect time to have a consultation and talk more about it and have it done. You can read more about why I decided to have Botox in my Feminism & Fillers post.
Read on to see how I got on and also see my Botox before and after photos.

The clinic itself is very smart and very light and bright and airy and the staff are all just so lovely and helpful. They also have a range of skincare brands there too including Epionce and Obagi and offer treatments like microdermabrasion and peels.
The first step for me was a consultation to discuss the areas I wanted to treat and to take down important information about me and any medical history. At this point they didn't talk to me about the medical side of the procedure as this is done by the doctor. But it was a really good opportunity to be put at ease or ask questions and again the staff were really lovely. They also talked to me about the fact they only use genuine FDA approved Botox which is a very important thing to consider when looking into Botox.

Following this I went straight into my appointment with the doctor where we discussed which areas I wanted to treat. There are three areas you can treat with botox; forehead lines, glabellar lines which are the creases above your nose and finally crows feet.  I had noticeable forehead lines but I had a really really deep set glabellar line above my nose and this is the one that really drew me to wanting Botox. The picture on the left is me right before the event and you can see the glabellar line very prominently.

I decided to treat two areas; forehead lines and my glabellar lines. the doctor did explain that as some of my lines were deep set they wouldn't disappear completely. This is why Botox is much better done early as almost a preventative measure. She also explained that they cannot inject right above the eyebrow as this area cannot be treated otherwise the eyebrow may drop or cause other problems so there will always be some lines that remain. The process itself is very quick and involves a series of small injections in your forehead. They feel like small scratches and although some areas like the ones towards the edges of your forehead are a little bit more tender, it honestly was not that painful. During the procedure the doctor got me to frown and raise my eyebrows in between injections to see where my lines were. At Transform they will always start with a basic amount of Botox and then judge each persons face and whether they need more above this and this creates your sort of Botox Prescription.

Once all the injections were done I was given instructions to keep moving my face for the next 20 mins or so, so smiling and frowning, which did make me look a bit odd at the event ha ha. I was also told to try and not tilt my head forwards for a few hours and given lots of Botox and aftercare info to take away. The image on the right is me immediately after the Botox. You can see there is a very small amount of redness but there is no real immediate effect from Botox. As it was my first time having Botox I was told my forehead would feel heavy for the first few days and that the effects would start to be visible after 5 days with the full effect after 14 days. On your first treatment they also ask that you go back for a check up after the 14 days just to see if the amount was enough and if you need anymore.

For the first few days my forehead did feel very odd. I was very aware that there was a sort of freezing effect happening to my forehead and it did feel very heavy. I'll be honest after 5 days I was not sure at all and I thought that though I was happy I had tried it, it probably wouldn't be something I would do again. I think its because my forehead felt not like my own and when I tried to frown or lift my eyebrows it felt very strange. I also noticed a very slight drop in my right eye. This did slightly panic me and I started googling eye droop which was a BAD idea! It was totally temporary and after about a week to 10 days everything changed.

The effect started to soften and the heaving feeling had gone and my forehead felt much more like my own. Plus when I looked in the mirror the smoothing effect was so noticeable. After 14 days I was so happy with the effect and how my face and skin looked and I'd had several compliments about how great my skin looked.  I have movement in my forehead so its not like I can't make facial expressions but if I raise my eyebrows the middle section does stay stiller than the outer but it feels like my eyebrows are raising, so it feels totally natural if that makes sense?

Yesterday I went back and had my consultation. Again everyone was so lovely and the clinic is so quick to get to. The doctor was really happy with the result and we discussed my initial concerns and how I was very happy now. We opted for no more injections as we were both happy with the results that had been achieved and below is how I look 3 weeks after my Botox treatment.

Botox Before & After photos

I am so happy. I feel so much more confident and I honestly think it has made my face look more radiant and smoother and I think it looks really natural too, its also lifted my eyebrows slightly which has really opened my eyes up. Its definitely something I will continue to do as its made me so much happier. Botox tends to last 3/4 months but some people find they only need to do it twice a year. I also will most definitely go back to the Cornhill Clinic and see Transform again. They really did put me at ease, looked after me and really listened to what I wanted so I can't recommend the clinic enough.

I'd love to know what you think? Do you think the effect is natural? Would you consider Botox or fillers? Also if you have any questions at all about my treatment please do ask in the comments and I'll get back to you.

one year on botox update

So one year later I decided to return to the clinic and have my Botox done again. In truth I should have gone a lot earlier as obviously after a year the original effects had well and truly worn off and all my lines were back. I loved the way I looked with it done, it made me feel more confident, my skin looked better and it had such an effect on my regularly occurring tension headaches to the point where I didn't hardly have them at all. This was a big plus for me. I would only trust Transform to do my Botox and as I'd loved the Cornhill Clinic so much I know I wanted to return there to have it done again.

So here is my before photo. As you can see my frown line above my nose was well an truly back with a vengeance. Its always been quite deep set this one and of course my forehead lines were back too.

The first time I had my Botox done I only had two areas done; the frown lines and the worry lines, this time I did opt to have three areas treated so included my crows feet and eye area. I have never been that worried by my crows feet area, but the consultant did advise me that if you treat all three areas you do have longer lasting results. I still wanted a very natural end result and to retain some movement and the consultant was great really listeing to what I wanted.

Once again as before it was a series of small scratches as the Botox is done. Around the eye area was more painful than the forehead, but still a very quick and tolerable pain, more like a sharp scratch. I was again advised to keep my face moving for the next hour or so, by making facial expressions which must have been very entertaining as I traveled home.

The results as before did take 5 days before I saw any real difference and a full two weeks before the whole thing had settled and softened. I didn't experience the heavy forehead feeling which they say you only experience the first time so that was good.

So the above results photos are taken after three weeks. I'm really pleased with the results. There is still a hint of forehead lines but as I didn't want an excessive amount of Botox in my forehead and wanted to retain some movement this is why. But I'm happy with that. I think treating the third area has made my face look much fuller and my cheeks look plumper actually. It has given my skin that lovely glow again and I've noticed my headaches have subsided too. One side effect after having my crows feet done is that when I smile my face does react differently and I now have a very full cheek smile rather than having quite distinct cheekbones like I used to, this is also because I have put a bit of weight on in the face too.

Once again I had wonderful service at the Cornhill Clinic and was looked after brilliantly. After your first Botox appointment they ask that you come for a compulsory 2 week follow up but for future treatments this follow up consultation is optional. I decided to have mine, just to chat through a couple of things and it was great to have this option.

I definitely will continue to get Botox. I haven't decided if I would do all three areas next time yet but I most definitely would do two areas like the first time and I'm going to try and have it done every 6 months if I can and of course I'll only go to the Cornhill Clinic which I would highly recommend.

Hope you've found this one year update useful and if you have any questions at all about Botox or the clinic itself do comment and I'll answer them for you.

I’d definitely consider Botox! Leah from Devotedto Pink did a post about her treatment a few months ago, and I sent it to a friend of mine and she ended up getting it done, and it looks brilliant. Yours looks amazing too, really fresh and not at all plastic. I think for anyone who has questions, concerns or even curious about it this post is going to be so helpful.

It looks so good. I’m seriously considering it for the same reason – that little vertical line between my brows.

You look fab, so radiant and yes it’s so natural!

I always thought Botox was something I’d never consider but now, in my early-30s, I’m starting to consider it—as a preventative measure as you say. Thanks for this post, it’s really useful to hear some honest thoughts about the entire process and to see photos of various stages.

You look great! I have been to the very same clinic for fillers. Can I ask who did the Botox? Thanks!

Your results are amazing, still so natural but does exactly what you’d want it to. I’ve often thought about having botox, especially since I reached my 30’s as I’ve the lines in my forehead and area between my eyes but always a little nervous, this post has really made me realise it can still look natural and I should go for it :)
