pastel geo painted frame diy

Today's post is a Pastel Geo Painted Frame diy. It was inspired by a really pr3tty frame I bought my sister in law a few weeks ago and not only did I think it was super cute but I thought, I bet I could make that! It was a pastel geo frame with divided sections of pink and green with white areas too. the white areas are a mix of paint effects and its finished off with gold lines.
This DIY is so simple and quick to do, plus its perfect for Spring and cost me a fraction of the cost to make.

I'm using a plain unvarnished wooden frame I found at Dunelm and chalk paints from Annie Sloan which I used in my Pumpkin DIY post. I'm also using a paintbrush, sponge, masking tape, gold paint pen and ruler.

STEP ONE

STEP TWO

MASK OFF SECTIONS TO PAINT. I MASKED AROUND THE EDGES SO ONLY THE FRONT OF THE FRAME IS PAINTED.

I'VE PAINTED THE TOP AREA USING THE SPONGE TO CREATE GAPS, SOLID PAINTED WHITE AT THE BOTTOM AND VERY LIGHTLY DRY BRUSHED WITH THE GRAIN ON THE LEFT.

STEP THREE

WHEN THE WHITE IS DRY REMOVE THE MASKING TAPE AND RETAPE FOR THE OTHER COLOURS.
I'VE PAINTED ONE LOWER SECTION PINK.
I'VE MIXED PAINT TO CREATE A PALE GREEN COLOUR AND PAINTED A LARGE SECTION.

STEP FOUR

ONCE ALL THE PAINT IS DRY REMOVE ALL THE TAPE.
USE THE GOLD PEN AND RULER TO DRAW GOLD LINES BETWEEN EACH SECTION. YOU CAN ALSO ADD GOLD DOTS AND A GOLD SECTION TOO WITH THE PEN.

FINISHED!

ONCE ALL DRY ADD YOUR FAVOURITE PICTURE INTO THE FRAME AND ENJOY! THIS DIY WOULD WORK GREAT WITH ANY PASTEL COLOURS AND YOU COULD USE EMULSION TESTER POTS TOO.

I'd love to know if you try out this Pastel Geo Painted Frame diy and make sure you check out all my other DIY's here too.
