Today I thought I'd share with you 5 of my favourite Instagram props to use. Now by no means are any of these revolutionary but its just 5 things I like to add into my pictures just to make them a bit more interesting. The first step to any instagram, shot especially flatlays is the back ground or surface. I like to use a white surface and either use my bed with white bedding on or a large white foam board sheet if I want it perfectly flat and clean. If you love the floorboard look then you can always head to a DIY shop and buy sample boards for around £1 each and fix them together or there are a range of vinyl photography backdrops you can buy featuring floorboard design. You can even buy digital download images so you can print out your own. If marble is your thing then of course you can purchase adhesive marble film and stick it to a board or any surface and snap your images on that.
Once you've sorted your background, here's five instagram props you can use.
Flowers or Plants
I love featuring something natural in my photos either real flowers or plants like the classic insta fave succulents. You can also use fake flowers which if you buy really nice quality ones can look great too. I love flowers I think they add colour and real life to photos.
Notebook or diary
The notebook or diary is a classic instagram prop. You can buy them in so many colours and varieties. I have a box full of different ones as I do love to write lists but I love to pop them in a snap too. A notebook can add a pop of colour or patterns to a photo too. I like to shop for mine at TK Maxx where you find some really quirky ones and really cheap too.
I really like a sprinkle of confetti in photos. It fills in empty areas and adds so much colour to photos. I love the confetti from this Etsy shop and used it this week in my Valentines photo. You can also pick up confetti from party shops too.
Sunglasses make the perfect instagram prop, especially if you are out and about and snapping your lunch. Whack them on the table in the photo just to add a bit of interest to the shot.
My last favourite instagram prop is a makeup bag, especially one with a slogan or design on. They make a great addition to flatlays and I love arranging them with items coming out. My canvas one is from Etsy and I love how simple and cute it is.
So that's my Five favourite Instagram props. I'd love to know your favourite? Do let me know if you'd like more posts like this, I'm thinking of doing a post about how I take and how I edit my blog photos, so let me know if you'd like to read this?
