How to set up an Etsy Shop & Etsy Resolution

January 9, 2017 2 Comments

I've always loved being crafty and doing bits of diy and a couple of year ago I opened an Etsy shop to sell some handmade Christmas decorations. I never did much with the shop as I was too busy with my full time job and blog and I didn't really know how to set up an Etsy Shop properly or promote my listings and make my shop a real success. Well now there are so many more tools for sellers to help you get started from Etsy Forums where you can ask all sorts of questions to Etsy Teams where you can chat with like minded Etsy people based on interests. Plus the Etsy seller app is now kick ass (more of that later) so I reopened my shop a few weeks ago.

My Etsy Shop is called Bang On Boutique and is full of items handmade by me; from luxury fur pom pom keyrings to embroidered hats I design and make myself. I love making every item and also love styling up my Bang On Boutique pieces on the blog too.

You can see my Pink Outfit post featuring one of my hats here.

How to set up an Etsy Shop

Setting up an Etsy shop has lots of stages to it including creating a logo and uploading items to filling in your shop info and seller profile.  I've been working on my shop for a few weeks now completing all these elements as well as adding new items including my detachable fluffy pom poms for shoes and hats. I'm hoping to add lots of new items over the year that suit the time of year and trends too.

Etsy has launched a new initiative for new brand new sellers to help with the initial set up of your Etsy shop. So if you fancy starting your own Etsy empire in 2017 then sign up to Etsy Resolution. Its a 3 week email course which will guide you step by step through the process of opening your own Etsy shop. It will give you all the tools you need to start your own Etsy business online.

You''ll learn

  • What to sell on Etsy
  • How to ace product photography
  • The key to crafting great product listings
  • Tips for getting found by shoppers
  • How to market your new shop
  • A guide to shipping

As well as the email lessons you will have access to the Etsy Resolution Facebook page where you can chat and exchange with other brand new sellers also taking part in the resolution campaign.

This is an amazing resource that's only available to new sellers so if you've been debating about whether to take the leap or not, now is the time.

You'll find lots of new items in my shop which I've added this week, but if you want to see my new items straight away and keep up to date with my Etsy shop journey then favourite my shop Bang On Boutique and you'll be the first to know when I add new items or add an update via the Etsy Seller app. Via the Etsy Seller app you can now share Shop Updates capturing a photo of you at work or an item in action, then you can tag the item from your shop and share it across your shops fans and your social networks. Very cool and I can't wait to start sharing.

You'll find a selection of my Etsy items below. Plus do let me know if you have any Etsy selling questions and make sure you sign up to Etsy Resolution quickly before the course starts at the end of this month if you want to learn how to set up an Etsy Shop.
