My Home Office Part 2 : The Details

So many of you loved my Office Makeover Part 1 which was all about the big elements like furniture etc. This post is Home Office - The Details and is all about those bits and bobs that so many of you asked about including of course the mesh notice board etc.

First up is my desk. Its an IKEA Linnmon with the legs sprayed gold. This is such a simple IKEA hack but makes the desk look so much more expensive too. I primed and then sprayed the legs with this gold spray. Spray in soft light coats to avoid drips is my top tip!

My laptop is the Microsoft Surface book. I'm going to do a full post about why I chose this computer over a Macbook pro but this is a blummin brilliant computer and well worth the money I invested.

Other details on my desk are my initial mug which is super cute and features a constellation of stars, my arrow light from the range of homeware at New Look and a couple of plants and succulents in marble pots.

My basket is from TIGER but I've found some great alternatives and linked them at the bottom of this post. Plus my glass sweet jar filled with all my washi tape and the most gorgeous smelling candle from Primark

I got asked about my noticeboard alot following my first post and as I said in the post then I made mine using an offcut of wire mesh. I got it from the theatre where I worked as we used loads in a show and bought it all in bulk. I primed it and then sprayed it gold. It hangs on 4 simple screws half way in the wall so the board sits away from the wall. You can buy boards like this already made and I've linked some down at the bottom of this post. My pegs are a little DIY job using washi tape and I'll be showing you how in my 5 Ways with Washi Tape Post coming soon. I also sprayed up gold some hooks I got from IKEA to hang bits and bobs from too.

I wanted an organised way to work and I just love working off tick lists (its the Stage Manager in me) and so I created these to do lists using Canva.com. On there you can create all sorts of free printables. I made Monthly Jobs, Weekly To Do and a Blog Promo checklist and hung them on these Kikki K mini clipboards. They weren't cheap so I've found these Cheap a5 clipboards

Other details are my gold lamp which is another DIY. I sprayed an old one with matte gold spray being sure to cover up the switch, inside and vents with masking tape when spraying. I love my gold glitter frame which says Make each Day Magical. I love shaking it up every so often and watching all the glitter fall. It reminds me of those sand and water pictures that everyone had in the 90's. Mine is sold out now but I found some really cute ones and linked them in the widget below.

My file boxes are another DIY using marble pvc and washi tape and will be in my 5 Ways with Washi Tape post too. I keep all my lookbooks in here and utilize the window sill to store them.

Lastly a few bits of gorgeous stationery. My Kikki K notepad block and gold pen. This pen writes like a dream!! Honestly I love writing with it. Makes me want to write more, although of course I use it to tick off my all important lists. My Kate Spade tackle box came from the flagship store in NYC and its honestly so pretty I don't want to open it! Its full of really useful stuff, but its JUST SO PRETTY!!!!

So thats my Home Office The Details post. Hope you liked it and do let me know if you have any questions about anything you spot that I haven't mentioned xxx

Oh babes your office is just SO dreamy! I absolutely adore it – my favourite part is definitely the wire board, love how you’ve clipped invites and notes to it as reminders, still looks so pretty too!
