BD Trade Secrets Collection Review

March 9, 2015 3 Comments
The lovely team at Beauty At Tesco were kind enough to send me over some makeup bits to try out. They are all from the brand new revamped BD Trade Secrets collection and included the Vital Skin Foundation shade Warm Skin, Light Skin concealer pen shade 2 and the Trade Secrets Intense Eyeliner in black.
Here’s what I thought.

Firstly I love the packaging. The foundation and concealer pen look really luxe and I especially like that the foundation has a lovely matte glass bottle and pump applicator.
The foundation has a creamy texture and not too runny. Its a little bit difficult to choose your shade online, they do need a colour chart for the shades. But I picked warm based on other foundations I own and its a great match. There are yellow and warm toned shades to choose from so its good to know your tone of skin.

The coverage is really good. It has a soft finish with a slight dewy look but its not too much which is good as I’m not a huge fan of really dewy foundations. This one left my skin looking radiant and not too heavily made up. I really love it. I’ve been wearing it every day and have packed it to take on holiday too. Definitely a product I would re buy and at £10 its a similar price to what I buy now.

The Light Skin concealer pen is really nice. Its a bit of a dupe of Touche Eclat I guess with the gold finish on the product. Texture is lovely and not drying to my eyes at all, if anything it felt moisturizing but it could have had a little better coverage, just for my liking. Again I found it hard to choose a shade and wished I’d picked shade 1. This shade 2 was an exact match for my skin and I would of liked something lighter to really brighten my under eye area which is where I mostly used this product. I’d really like to try the lighter shade though as the formula of the product was really good. It has a price point of £7.99 which I think is reasonable for the quality of packaging etc. They do have a palette style concealer which looks like a dupe for Benefit Boi ing or similar and this has a great price point of £3.99 which I might try out in the future.

Finally the Intense eyeliner. Again I loved this product. The swatch above is of this BD liner on the left and the version from George at Asda (coming in another review very soon) on the right. As you can see the BD Trade Secrets one is so much more pigmented. It had a lovely jet black colour, went on great similar to my favorite Bourjois one and lasted really well. Really good little buy for £3.99!!

All in all I’m really impressed with the new BD Secrets collection.

Have you tried any of this collection? let me know if you do.
