THX Spiralicious Bubble Wand – Beauty Review

THX-CURLING-WAND.17

I was so excited to try out this cool piece of hair styling kit. It might look like a slightly odd contraption but the Bubble wand from THX is designed to give you either tousled waves or spiral curls depending upon where you place your hair and is so unique I was looking forward to testing it out.

Included in the box is the wand itself with extra long 3m rotating cord and a heat glove too. The wand takes 3 minutes to heat up which is a little while and has no varying heat settings but once hot your good to go.

There are two ways you can use the wand. The first is to use the clamp by clamping the ends of your hair and then twist the hair onto the wand or you can wrap the hair round the wand starting at the top and holding the end of your hair using the heat glove. I opted for the latter.
Plus if you wrap your hair round the bubble sections you get tousled waves or wrap round the smaller sections and get tighter spirals. I tended to wrap the top of my hair round the bubble and then the lower and ends of my hair around the narrow sections.

The wand gave a real tousled look. Above is my whole head curled with no brushing out and I really liked the effect on my short hair.

The last two photos are after a gentle brush through of the curls and I do like the soft waves the curler leaves you with.
I found the wand really easy to use and I really did like the style of curls it gave me, I think it would be even better on long hair as the wand is quite long so theres plenty room to wrap the hair around it. Plus I think at £25 the THX Bubble wand has a really brilliant price tag. Another plus is that its quite light so I’m planning on packing it this weekend for my trip to London.

My only criticisms would be the slow heat up time compared to other curlers and the lack of variable temperature, however I found the heat level to be perfect so it wasn’t a problem for me.
All in all I’m really happy with the wand and I reckon it might get more use than my current one as I like it a lot more and I reckon I’d like to try some of the other THX products too to see if they are equally as good.
Have you tried any THX Hair styling tools??

I have been looking for a new curling wand and after reading a review on Gemma’s (Miss Makeup Magpie) blog I had to order it! I think it should arrive today. I really can’t wait to try it out, especially after reading another very positive review. The photos and description of how it works is really helpful, thank you xx

    Ooo i love it!
Think I will have to get myself down to Tesco and get one. I always struggle with good curly hair and consistency, so i reckon the rather odd design of it will help me out!
    Awesome
